Attached is a link to the entry for the Bloomington-Normal Junior City to be played August 4-5.  Please share with your teams and encourage participation.

New for this year is a Pre-Season Team Championship.  In addition to the individual city junior champions we will crown one team champion.  We will count the best four scores from each school.   

 

I spoke with the IHSA and as long as it is an informal competition and everyone understands coaches may not coach – the event is all good.  The dates of the tournament (Aug 4-5) fall outside of the permissible contact dates so coaching is not permitted.  We will present one “bragging rights” trophy to the winning team.

I have been considering ways to increase participation and I am hoping by having a pre-season team element it might be helpful.

I am including coaches that are in neighboring communities as well.  Juniors are eligible to play if they have a pass to a BN golf course or if one of their parents is employed in Bloomington-Normal.  Please feel free to share with others that I may have missed!

No Summer Practice this Week

There will not be summer practice this Monday & Wednesday due to COUNTRY Youth Classic.  Practice will resume on Monday June 30th.

Summer Practice

Summer practice for current players and players interested in trying out for the team will start on June 9th and go through the end of July.

COUNTRY Youth Classic - Registration is Open

Prospective Student Open House - February 12th

Open House for students interested in attending U-High for the 2014-2015 school year has been postponed unitl Wednesday, February 12th from 5:30 to 8:30.  We have a table set up in the gym so stop by and get to know the Boys Golf program.  Coach York and members of the team will be available to talk and answer any questions you might have.  Hope to see you there!  Go U!

Solid Weekend

The team completed a solid weekend of play with 5th and 9th place finishes at the Danville Viking Invitational and Co-ed Classic.

Friday, the boys shot a season best 314 at Turtle Run Golf Club.  Nolan Harris led the Pioneers with a 76 finishing in 12th place individually.  The team also got a strong round from Tyler Gatto, breaking into the 70's for the first time this season with 77.

Saturday, the team finished with 328 at Green Garden Country Club and were led by seniors Nolan Harris and Dylan Koth.  They finished with scores of 78 and 81 respectively.  Harris' 78 finished in 10th place individually.
