Golfers battled tough conditions Tuesday at the Pioneer Invitational. With temperatures in the upper 90s and 15 mph winds, the golf course played firm and fast. Lincoln captured the team title shooting a team score of 311. Pontiac and Normal Community finished 2nd and 3rd respectively. U-High finished in 8th with a score of 331 and were led by Nolan Harris with a 79.

5th Place Finish at Gary Saunders Invitational
U-High finished in 5th place at the Gary Saunders Invitational at Macomb Country Club. The Pioneers shot 330 as a team and were led by Senior Tanner Peasley's 79. Peasley finished in 9th place individually. Teammate Nolan Harris finished in 10th place with 80.

4th Place Finish at Raider/Redbird Classic
The Pioneers rebounded with a team score of 315 in the Raider/Redbird Classic at Weibring Golf Club. U-High finished in 4th place and was led by senior Dylan Koth's 77 (16th place). Nick Mosele continued his solid play carding his second consecutive 79.

Junior City Results
U-High was well represented at the 2012 Bloomington/Normal Junior City Golf Tournament at Ironwood Golf Course on July 23-24.
Leading after the 1st round, senior Adam Baracani finished 2nd in the boys 16-18 division with a 72-73 - 145. Senior Cole Sondgeroth carded 6 birdies on his Day 2 round to finish in 3rd with a 76-73 - 149. Juniors Nolan Harris (73-77 - 150) and Evan Sloneker (83-84 - 167) also participated, giving the U-High "team" a 2-day total of 304-307 - 611. Sophomore Mason Galvan carded a 89-85 - 174 while competing in the 13-15 division.
On the girls side, junior Erin Sondgeroth posted a 100-93 - 193 to post a 17-stroke victory and claim the title.
Complete results were printed in the July 25th edition of The Pantagraph.

Special at The Links @ Ireland Grove
The Links at Ireland Grove is offering to great specials for local high school golfers ...
- $5 for a 9-hole round of golf
- $5 for a large bucket of balls at the range
In either case, the player is then allowed to work in the "private" short game area located south of El Toro Restaurant.
Just check in at the front desk and tell them that you are on the U-High Boys Golf team. I gave them a list of all boys interested in playing at U-High next year. If you have any questions, have them call me @ 309-530-2297. Additionally, if you know of any incoming freshman who might want to take advantage of this offer, have them contact me at this e-mail and I will get their name added to the list.
